๐ŸŒก๏ธ Concrete Curing Time Calculator UAE

Concrete curing in the UAE is a uniquely challenging process. In summer, temperatures above 45ยฐC cause initial set in under 45 minutes and rapid moisture loss that can reduce final concrete strength by 20 to 40 percent if curing is inadequate.

Our Concrete Curing Time Calculator is unique to the Gulf climate โ€” it calculates minimum and recommended curing days adjusted for your current temperature, concrete grade, cement type, and structural element type.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Select concrete grade โ€” M20 is standard for most UAE structural work
  2. Select cement type โ€” SRC is most common in UAE due to soil sulfate conditions
  3. Enter the current ambient temperature in degrees Celsius
  4. Select the element type being cured
  5. Click Calculate for minimum days, recommended days, formwork strip time, and risk level

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช UAE Tip: In UAE summer above 35ยฐC, begin curing within 30 minutes of surface finishing โ€” do not wait. Use wet hessian immediately, then cover with polythene sheeting to retain moisture. Water continuously โ€” do not allow any drying between wetting cycles. Never use black polythene in UAE summer as it heats the surface and causes cracking.

The Formula Explained

Minimum curing days are based on BS EN 13670 adjusted for UAE temperature: above 45ยฐC requires 14 days minimum, above 38ยฐC requires 10 days, above 30ยฐC requires 7 days. Higher concrete grades add 3 additional days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long to cure concrete in UAE summer?

Minimum 14 days for M20 concrete when temperatures exceed 45ยฐC. Recommended 21 days for full strength development. This is 2 to 3 times longer than cool climate standards because of the rapid moisture evaporation in UAE heat.

What curing method is best in UAE?

Wet hessian covered with white polythene sheeting gives the best results. White polythene reflects heat unlike black which absorbs it. For walls and columns, use a curing compound spray applied immediately after formwork stripping.

Can I use a curing compound instead of water curing?

Yes, for surfaces that cannot be easily wetted. Use a Class 2 curing compound (white pigmented) conforming to ASTM C309. Apply immediately after surface finishing at the specified rate.
