The Formula Explained
Net Wall Area = (Length x Height) minus opening deductions. Blocks per m2 = 1 / (Block Length + 10mm joint) x (Block Height + 10mm joint). Total Blocks = Net Area x Blocks per m2 x 1.10 (10% wastage).

What block size is standard in UAE?

How many mortar bags per m2 of blockwork?
Approximately 1.2kg of mortar per m2 of blockwork for standard 10mm joints. One 25kg bag of masonry cement covers approximately 20m2 of blockwork.
Can I use regular cement mortar for external UAE walls?
For external walls and substructure in UAE, always specify SRC (Sulphate Resistant Cement) mortar due to high sulfate content in UAE soil and groundwater. Standard OPC mortar will deteriorate rapidly.
