🇦🇪 UAE Tip: In UAE summer, concrete gains strength faster due to heat but also loses moisture rapidly. Never strip formwork early — wait minimum 14 days for slabs in summer even if concrete feels hard. Premature stripping in hot weather causes deflection and cracking. Always use a mould release agent on all shuttering surfaces before pouring.
The Formula Explained
Shuttering Area = Slab Area plus (Perimeter x Slab Depth) with 10% wastage. Props = Slab Area divided by (Prop Spacing squared). Walers = (Area divided by Spacing) x 2 directions x 1.10 wastage.
