Choosing flooring for a Pakistani home involves a set of decisions that most international flooring guides do not address — because Pakistan’s climate, humidity patterns, construction practices and material markets are genuinely different from the markets where most flooring content is written. The monsoon season that brings 300mm of rain to Lahore in July. The load-shedding cycles that switch off dehumidifying AC for hours at a time. The moisture that rises through ground-floor slabs in older Pakistani bungalows. The dust that finds its way through every gap in a house on an unpaved lane in Faisalabad. All of these affect which flooring materials last and which ones fail.
This guide gives you real October 2026 flooring costs across Pakistan — tiles, marble, vinyl, SPC, laminate and engineered wood — with city-by-city pricing, complete project cost estimates by house size, and the Pakistan-specific climate advice that determines which of these materials will look good in ten years and which will not.

SPC vs Laminate vs Engineered Wood — The Pakistan Climate Decision
This is the question that matters most for Pakistani homeowners who want a wood-look floor in bedrooms and lounges — and the one that most flooring dealers will not answer honestly because SPC is often less profitable to sell than engineered wood or imported laminate.
Pakistan’s climate presents a specific challenge for wood-based flooring. During monsoon season (July-September), indoor humidity in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad rises significantly — particularly in rooms with limited ventilation or in older houses without continuous AC. Wood-based flooring materials — laminate, engineered wood, solid hardwood — all contain organic material that responds to humidity by expanding. When humidity then drops in winter or when AC resumes, the material contracts. This repeated expansion and contraction causes gapping, buckling, and edge lifting over time.
SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) has no organic content — it is limestone powder and PVC formed into rigid planks. It does not respond to humidity changes at all. In Pakistan’s monsoon climate, this is its defining advantage over all wood-based alternatives. SPC at PKR 140-220 per sqft is also significantly more affordable than engineered wood at PKR 280-900 per sqft. For Pakistani bedrooms, lounges and offices where a wood look is wanted — SPC is the rational first choice in 2026.
Laminate is the most humidity-sensitive of the three. The HDF (high density fibreboard) core absorbs moisture readily — particularly at joints and edges where the locking system allows moisture ingress. Pakistan’s market has significant quantities of AC3-rated laminate (appropriate for moderate residential use in temperate climates) being sold for general use in monsoon-belt cities where higher AC4 or AC5 ratings and better moisture resistance are needed. For rooms that see direct floor moisture risk — ground floor rooms in older Pakistani houses, rooms adjacent to bathrooms — laminate is a poor choice regardless of price.
Engineered wood handles Pakistan’s climate better than solid hardwood or laminate but still requires consistent humidity management. In a DHA Lahore or Islamabad F-8 home where AC runs consistently and the room is well-sealed, engineered wood performs well and looks genuinely beautiful. In a room that is regularly left hot and humid when unoccupied — which describes most Pakistani homes during working hours in summer — the performance is less predictable.
Marble Flooring Pakistan 2026 — Local vs Imported
Pakistan is one of the world’s significant marble producers — Ziarat in Balochistan produces white marble used in premium Pakistani homes and exported internationally. This means Pakistani homeowners have access to genuinely good quality local marble at prices that are significantly lower than imported alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the flooring cost per square foot in Pakistan 2026?
Flooring costs in Pakistan in October 2026 range from PKR 140-350 per sqft installed for local ceramic tiles, PKR 180-290 per sqft for SPC vinyl, PKR 145-500 per sqft for local marble, PKR 220-430 per sqft for laminate, PKR 350-1,030 per sqft for engineered wood and PKR 330-1,650 per sqft for imported porcelain tiles. Local marble from Ziarat at PKR 65-350 per sqft supply only is one of Pakistan’s best-value premium flooring options.
Is SPC flooring good for Pakistan climate?
Yes — SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) is the most Pakistan-appropriate wood-look flooring available. Its rigid limestone-polymer core is completely dimensionally stable — it does not expand, contract or warp during Pakistan’s monsoon humidity cycles or load-shedding-related temperature fluctuations. It is 100% waterproof, making it safe for ground-floor rooms with potential slab moisture. At PKR 180-290 per sqft installed it is significantly more affordable than engineered wood while performing better in Pakistan’s climate. Strongly recommended for Pakistani bedrooms, lounges and offices.
What is the best flooring for Pakistani lounge?
For a Pakistani main lounge (baithak/drawing room), locally quarried marble is the most popular and culturally appropriate choice — particularly Ziarat White or Badal Grey at PKR 145-500 per sqft installed. Large format porcelain tiles (24×24 or 24×48 inches) in marble-look finishes are a lower-maintenance alternative at PKR 320-830 per sqft installed. Both choices handle Pakistani family use, dust and humidity better than wood-based alternatives in a high-traffic receiving area.
How much does it cost to floor a 5 marla house in Pakistan?
Flooring a 5 marla single-storey house (approximately 850 sqft) in Pakistan costs PKR 1,19,000-2,97,500 with local ceramic tiles, PKR 1,23,000-4,25,000 with local marble, or PKR 1,53,000-2,46,500 with SPC vinyl — all supply and installation included. For a 5 marla double-storey (1,700 sqft) double all figures. Lahore is typically 10-15% cheaper than Islamabad for equivalent flooring work.
Where are the best tile markets in Pakistan?
Lahore’s Ferozepur Road tile market is Pakistan’s largest and most competitive — stretching several kilometres with hundreds of tile showrooms selling local, Chinese, Spanish and Italian tiles at wholesale and retail. Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area and Tariq Road have comparable depth of choice. Islamabad’s I-9 sector has a dedicated marble and tile market. For local Pakistani marble, the Lahore Marble Market and Karachi Marble Market offer quarry-direct pricing significantly below showroom retail.
